Our Respected Chanters
Our parish is truly blessed to have received
the tireless efforts of a number of fine Chanters in the last
forty years. The men that have served our Parish as Chanters
since the opening of the church are: Chris Koulos, Spiros
Kontos, Gus Foukas, Steve Dellis, and Kostas (Gus) Mavrogiannis.
There are also other people that have assisted with chanting
in our church over the years: Panos Korpas, Dr. Michael Kontos,
Greg Arzoumanidis, Vasilis Roumbos, Vasilis Stamoulis, Michael
Hountalas, Vasilis J. Deligiannis, Lester Tyra, David Hostetler,
and Theodore Macks.
They have all contributed in numerous
ways to the beauty and order of the life of the worship. Their
efforts have been tireless and are often times without recognition
and reward. Nonetheless, we are most appreciative of their
service to our Parish.
Our present Chanter, Kostas (Gus) Mavrogiannis,
has been serving our parish since 1993. He is a member of
the St. John Damascene League of Chanters, where he has been
the secretary for the last six years. Theodore (Ted) Macks
who chants the services during the week has been serving our
parish since 1996.
We pray for God to bless them both so
that they can continue to minister and attend to the chanting
needs of our church.
