2009 St. Athanasios Annual Golf Outing
Attention fans of Greek Orthodox Loving Fellowship: Mark your calendars!
The 10th annual St. Athanasios Golf Outing will be Saturday, September 26 at the Phillips Park Golf Course, located 1.2 miles southwest of our church on Hill Avenue in Aurora. The outing will begin at noon with registration and fellowship and a “shotgun” start at 1 p.m.
We use a scramble format opening the event up for everyone regardless of skill. The patara (camaraderie) is what makes the outing! Our 4 somes include grandparents, parents & children or brothers/cousins and just friends. If you can’t come up with your own 4 some, sign up anyway! We will make one for you. Our last two outings have averaged 96 golfers and raised over $9000 each year for our church!
The golf course is part of the 325-acre Phillips Park. Golfing and non-golfing family members can enjoy the other park attractions and amenities that include:
• A Park Zoo…exhibits include wolves, foxes, bald eagles, pot bellied pigs, llamas, elk, peacocks, Elk Bull and herds, goats, a bird/reptile house and more
• Large state-of-the-art playgrounds, toddler playgrounds, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, fishing piers and bike paths.
Even if you don’t golf, we welcome you to the community dinner at the Church hall that follows. We will again have a silent auction/raffle.
To encourage family participation, we have reduced the price for children 12 & under.
Cost:
Golfers 13 and older: $95 per each ($85 if registered and paid by September 23)
For children 12 & under: $75 each ($65 if registered and paid by September 23)
Includes golf, cart, “goodie bag” and dinner.
Dinner only: $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
This year’s dinner will again be catered by our very own John Vlahos and his crew!
